Research has just shown that horses are capable of more facial expressions than dogs and even chimpanzees. But when you’ve got hair this good, who needs them?

Despite the ‘long face’, horses can show 17 different and sensitive emotions like fear, confusion, happiness and contentment with movements of their ears, lips, cheeks and eyes.

In case you’re wondering, dogs manage 16 while we’re seemingly the most expressive at 27 different ‘faces’...
